TLS as president, one page, 6.25 x 9, Executive Mansion letterhead, July 4, 1901. Letter to Senator T. C. Platt. In part: “I have talked with Secretary Root concerning a successor to Judge Brown. Mr. Root will be in New York Saturday, and I shall be glad if I can see you at that time.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, a couple passing through portions of signature, some mild toning and foxing, and a few creases.
