Description

Lyndon B. Johnson

TLS signed “L. B. J.,” one page, 7 x 10.25, personal letterhead, April 5, 1971. Letter to editorial cartoonist Jack Knox at the Nashville Banner shortly before the dedication of his presidential library. In part: “You are right that the staff will be pretty busy just before the dedication…I am pleased that Mr. Stahlman is doing ‘something special’ for the dedication. Since editorial cartoons will be one of the features of the Library when it begins functioning, I am glad that you are doing the sketches for the Banner. Is there a chance we will get your originals after they have been used?” In fine condition, with a horizontal fold through the tops of Johnson’s initials. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
