Description

Stage-worn shirt from a raucous Troubadour show

Joey Ramone’s stage-worn t-shirt worn during a historic appearance at the Troubadour on August 20, 1998. Black t-shirt is for WDST Radio Woodstock 100.1. In fine condition, with expected wear. Ramone wore the shirt at the iconic venue when he appeared with the Independents, a band he was producing. At the end of the show, they were joined on stage by Shonen Knife, introduced by Joey as ‘The Osaka Ramones,’ where they blistered through the Ramones’s classics ‘I Wanna Be Sedated’ and ‘Blitzkreig Bop.’ In a later interview with DJ Ramone, he stated the club had told him their ‘jam’ together on the 20th…generated the ‘heaviest mosh scene’ they'd ever witnessed in the history of the Troubadour. Accompanied by a photo of Joey wearing the shirt on stage. Provenance: Joey Ramone Estate. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the Joey Ramone Estate. RR Auction COA.
