Description

From a few days before the first session for ‘When I’m Sixty-Four’

DS, one page, 8.25 x 10.25, December 1, 1966. Receipt for a purchase of “16 M.3 Flashbulbs” from Studio Jeunesse in London. In fine condition, with filing holes to left border and expected document wear. The ideal vintage McCartney signature is unaffected by any of the stamps or notations on this interesting art-related document. Later this week, the Beatles would begin to record Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, beginning with McCartney’s song ‘When I’m Sixty-Four.’ McCartney’s purchase of camera flashbulbs is also of note, as he would soon meet his future wife, Linda Eastman, who at the time was working as a professional photographer. An exceptional document associated with a key period in McCartney’s life and career. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
