James Nagle

Union general (1822–1866) best known for his actions at the 1862 Battle of Antietam, where his brigade played a key role in securing Burnside's Bridge. Original 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite portrait of Nagle in uniform, signed at the bottom of the image in black ink, “James Nagle.” Published by A. M. Allen of Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Light overall foxing to image, otherwise fine condition. RR Auction COA.
