Three one-page ALSs, various sizes, all dated between 1891–1896, and signed by former Confederate soldiers Colonel J. B. E. Sloan, Young John Pope, and William Campbell. Sloan’s letter, on Edisto Phosphate Company letterhead, reads, in part: “A similar claim was rec’d some years ago, and referred to Colonel–now Judge Simonston who on investigation informed me that I was not liable and informed claimant.” Expected toning and folds, otherwise fine condition.
