War Widow’s Power of Attorney

Partly-printed DS, one page, 16.5 x 13, October 15, 1864. Power of attorney document submitted to obtain a war widow’s pension. In part: “Mary A. Chaundy widow of Charles Chaundy who was a Priv. in Co. ‘B’ 96th Regt. Pa. Vols. in the service of the United States, is entitled…to receive pay at the rate of eight dollars…per month…she has not intermarried, but continues the widow of the above mentioned Charles Chaundy.” Framed to an overall size of 20.5 x 17.5. In good condition, with heavily toned tape remnants along intersecting folds (many with complete separations). RR Auction COA.
