British statesman (1784–1865) who served twice as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in the mid-19th century. ALS signed “Palmerston,” one page, 4.5 x 7, March 22, 1832. Short letter to botanist Sir William Hooker. In part: “Pray accept my best thanks for your very prompt & obliging attention.” Central horizontal and vertical folds, a few stray ink marks, and some light mirroring of ink, otherwise fine condition.
