“All of us who loved the theatre loved William Collier”

ALS signed “Orson,” two pages, 6 x 7.75, personal letterhead, no date but circa January 1944. Letter to Buster. In part: “I didn’t hear of your loss until just the other day…I was a great admirer of your father, one of the very many. My father was a friend of his. I wish I had been—And all of us who loved the theatre loved William Collier.” Various horizontal folds (one passing through the signature), and a paperclip mark and impression to the upper left, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. Provenance: William Collier Family Collection. RR Auction COA.
