German inventor and early filmmaker (1863–1939) who, with his brother, invented the Bioskop projector, which they used on on November 1, 1895 to display the first moving picture show to a paying audience. Vintage 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo of Skladanowsky, signed in the lower border with a German sentiment in black ink. Upper border also bears a pencil notation of the date March 28, 1935.
