Willy Coppens

Belgian’s number one fighter ace (1892–1986) during WWI credited with 37 aerial victories. He lost his leg after being wounded by a bullet in 1918, but continued flying until 1940. Glossy 9.25 x 10.5 photo of Coppens in uniform, signed and inscribed in the lower border in black felt tip in French. In fine condition, with a slightly grainy quality to the image and slightly trimmed edges. RR Auction COA.
