Description

Tallulah Bankhead

Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 head-and-shoulders photo of Bankhead in costume for the 1947 Broadway play The Eagle Has Two Heads, signed and inscribed to a friend and colleague, Sybil, in fountain pen, “To Syb, my friend, with love from Tallulah.” Rippling along left edge and mounting remnants to reverse, otherwise fine condition. Interestingly, Bankhead had co-star Marlon Brando fired from the play shown here; luckily for him, he was soon cast in A Streetcar Named Desire, which launched him into stardom. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
