ALS, in purple pencil, signed “Alfred Bicknell, Jr.,” one page, 5 x 8, January 15, 1880. Letter reads, in part: “By the terms of two contracts between ‘The Historical Art Association’ and Chas. A Walker, under which the latter’s engraving the pictures of ‘Abraham Lincoln and the Consecration of the National Cemetery at Gettysburgh [sic], Penn.’—The first payment thereon it is expected to be within a few days, amounting to about $28.–for each single share.” Also included is one of Bicknell’s business cards, and two complimentary tickets to view “Bicknell’s Historical painting, ‘Lincoln at Gettysburg.’” In fine condition, with some toning and soiling to tickets.
