Giles A. Smith

Union general (1829–1876) who was wounded at the Third Battle of Chattanooga. He also took part in the Atlanta Campaign, the March to the Sea, and the Carolinas Campaign. Original 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite photo by Scibird & Bro. of Bloomington, Ill, signed on the reverse in black ink, “Giles A. Smith, Maj General, US Vols.” In fine condition, with an ink identification to the front. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
