British surgeon (1853–1923) who saved Edward VII’s life with an emergency appendectomy shortly before the coronation and who served as the personal physician to ‘Elephant Man’ John Merrick. Choice ink signature, “Frederick Treves,” on an off-white card. Matted and framed with a portrait of Treves to an overall size of 7.5 x 9.5. In fine condition.
