Civil War–dated ALS, one page, lightly-lined, 5 x 7.75, January 7, 1864. Letter to a Fair committee member. In part: “I send you some autographs, and you have my best wishes for the success of your fair. Our brave soldiers will need all the relief that it is possible to give, and the sympathetic heart of woman must be their last hope.” In fine condition.
