Fitzhugh Lee

American soldier and politician (1835–1905), nephew of Robert E. Lee, who was a Confederate cavalry general during the Civil War and a general during the Spanish-American War. In the interval between the two wars, Lee served as Governor of Virginia and Consul General at Havana. Bold ink signature, “Fitzhugh Lee, Governor of Virginia,” on a brown 4 x 2 deckle-edge card, with “Commonwealth of Virginia, Governor Affair, Richmond, Sept 30/89,” added in another hand. In fine condition. RR Auction COA.
