Scarce ALS signed “S. Christa McAuliffe,” one page, 8.5 x 11, United States of America letterhead, January 14. Letter to a young admirer. In full: “I’m delighted that you are interested in the space program. I’m excited about my upcoming flight this January and I hope to share the lessons with many viewers like yourself. I do hope that you all [sic] having a wonderful school year. I have sent your request for pictures on to the astronaut office. As soon as the lithographs are available they will be sent to you.” In fine condition. Any handwritten letter from McAuliffe is quite scarce, even more so written just two weeks before her tragic flight.
