Russ Columbo

Hollywood’s tragic crooner (1908–1934) who was killed in a peculiar incident when a friend accidentally set off a firearm, discharging a bullet that ricocheted off the table and hit Columbo in the forehead; at the time of his death, he was romantically involved with Carole Lombard. Vintage glossy 8 x 9.75 close-up portrait, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Betty—Best Always, Russ Columbo.” In fine condition, with a small stain above his left ear and a couple stray ink marks to the end of the signature. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
