Letter of thanks reads, in part: “I appreciate your thoughtfulness in enclosing the picture which brought back many pleasant memories of Plattsburg. Glad to hear that you were able to serve in the Regular Army in spite of a flat foot. It all goes to show that you can’t keep a good soldier down.
