Description

Lincoln assassination biography of the utmost rarity

American author (1901–1979) best known for her children’s books, as well as Twenty Days, an account of Lincoln's assassination and days that followed. Signed book: Twenty Days. First edition. NY: Harper & Row, 1965. Hardcover with dust jacket, 9.25 x 12.25, 312 pages. Signed on the half-title page in blue ink, “Dorothy Meserve Kunhardt.” Autographic condition: very fine. Book condition: VG+/VG+. Black and white cloth-covered boards; light wear to edges; minor soiling to exterior. Dust jacket in protective mylar sleeve; some minor tears and creases at corners and spine-ends; rubbed and lightly soiled; very slightly yellowed. Kunhardt’s signature is virtually impossible to find in any format, and this is quite possibly the only example of Twenty Days extant. RR Auction COA.
