TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Paramount Pictures Inc. letterhead, January 14, 1937. Letter to Aileen Brenon at Paramount Pictures. In part: “The article in Stage is splendid, the lay-out in Life of course superb, and the $100.00 check exquisite…It was nice to note that The Plainsman opened yesterday to the same business that Cleopatra opened on August 21, 1934, so I presume we can look for a good week, as I think Cleopatra about holds the record for the house. You will remember, though, that Mae West, who followed Cleopatra, brushed us very close.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and a small spot along bottom edge affecting nothing. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
