Description

Rare studio portrait of the master architect from his beloved Taliesin

Highly influential American architect (1867–1959) whose mastery of space, form, and human-centered design revolutionized the field of architecture and earned him a place among the greatest thinkers and artists of the 20th century. Magnificent vintage pearl-finish 8 x 10 photo by Blackstone Studios of New York, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Novena—at Taliesin—July-20-45, Frank Lloyd Wright.” In fine condition, with a couple light diagonal creases to lower left and a vertical crease to right border. ‘Taliesin’ was his home, which began construction in 1911 on his 600-acre estate that included the Taliesin residence and the Hillside Home School, a coeducation facility founded by his aunts. An amazingly rare portrait with an intimate connection to Wright. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
