Incredible vintage 3.25 x 5.25 real photo postcard of Houdini in a dapper suit, signed on the front in black ink, “Harry Houdini, 4/6/13.” Reverse bears an ALS from his wife, signed “Bess Houdini,” in full: “We are just leaving Newcastle, and would like to say au revoir to you. Mr. Houdini is 39 today he sends regards with love.” In very good condition, with scattered creases and scuffing to the image (heavier to corner tips), light overall soiling to the reverse, and slight paper loss to lower left corner tip. An especially interesting letter, as Houdini was actually born on March 24, 1874, in Budapest, Hungary—however, he publicly claimed a birth date of April 6, 1874, in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he lived as a child.
