ALS signed “Lister,” one page both sides, 4.5 x 7, black-bordered personal letterhead, October 11, 1898. Letter to “Dr. Payne.” In part: “I only got your letter and its enclosures yesterday afternoon on my return from Liverpool. I have not yet had time to do more then read very hurriedly the applications for the lectureship.” In fine condition, with scattered foxing to center.
