Catholic priest who administered the Last Rites to the mortally wounded Kennedy at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Souvenir typescript signed “Rev. Oscar L. Huber, C. M.,” one page, 8.5 x 11, no date. Huber criticizes inaccuracies in William Manchester’s book The Death of a President. In part: “I was escorted directly to the emergency room where the wounded President Kennedy, covered with a sheet, was lying...I removed, to the tip of his nose, the sheet that covered the President’s head and immediately began administering the Last Rites…No one blurted out: ‘Is that all?’ or asked: ‘Can’t you say some prayers for the dead?’ Had anyone done so, I certainly would have heard it as Death’s silence permeated the room.” In fine condition, with two horizontal mailing folds.
