Edmund Burke

Statesman, author, orator, political theorist, and philosopher (1729–1797) who, after relocating to England, served for many years in the House of Commons. He is mainly remembered for his support of the American Revolution, and for his later opposition to the French Revolution. Ink signature, “Edm. Burke,” on an off-white 7 x 1.75 slip clipped from the close of a letter. Affixed with a portrait to a 7.5 x 6.75 sheet. Light scattered foxing and soiling, otherwise fine condition. RR Auction COA.
