Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “George R,” one page, 12.75 x 8.75, May 24, 1762. King George appoints Benjamin Stuart to be “Ensign to that Company…Our Sixty First Regiment of Foot, commanded by by Our Trusty & Wellbeloved Colonel George Gray.” Partial seal and ribbon remnants remain affixed to left side. Intersecting folds and areas of moderately heavy soiling, otherwise very good condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
