Louis-Mathieu Mole (1781–1855) was a French statesman and 18th Prime Minister of France. Partly-printed vellum DS, in French, signed “Cte. Mole,” one page both sides, 14.25 x 10.5, December 12, 1818. Louis XVIII appoints the Duc d’Angoulme, Louis Antoine de Bourbon, as an admiral. Signed at the conclusion by Mole, and signed by a secretary on the behalf of the king. Reverse is signed by Louis Antoine to confirm the appointment. A central vertical fold and light scattered soiling, otherwise fine condition. RR Auction COA.
