In part: “I’m aloft in an Air France plane en route to Nice for the weekend—a longish one, till Tuesday. I am going to see Mr. Maugham, who sounded very chipper and cheery when I spoke to him from Paris…We are working hard—but it is going very well and smoothly.” In fine condition, with a noticeable crease to the upper border.
