Maryland physician who treated Robert E. Lee after the Civil War. Original unsigned 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite photo by Bendann Brothers of Baltimore. Pencil notation in an unknown hand on the reverse states “Dr. Thomas Buckler, Dr. to R. E. Lee.” In fine condition. Although there is no record of Buckler having served in the war, research shows that Buckler examined Lee in 1870 while visiting from Paris. RR Auction COA.
