Hungarian conductor (1850–1898) who conducted the premiere performance of Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9, and is especially associated with Wagner’s operas. Original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo by Falk of New York, signed on the reverse in black ink, “Souvenir from Anton Seidl, conductor of the Music Hall, Brighton Beach Music Hall, 1888.” In very good condition, with mounting remnants to the left border of the front, slight chipping to right edge of the image, and two areas of toning to the reverse.
