US Naval officer (1832–1903) who served on board the St. Louis and the New Ironsides. Original 4 x 6.5 seated cabinet photo, by an unknown studio, signed and inscribed on the reverse in black ink, “To John A. Biddle, Esq, from his kinsman, Geo. E. Belknap.” In very good condition, with trimmed edges, some scattered light surface marks to both sides, as well as a few pencil notations and a stamp. RR Auction COA.
