Union general (1792–1881) who was duped by General Johnston in the Shenandoah Valley, relieved of command, and mustered out of service. Original 2.25 x 3.75 carte-de-visite portrait by F. Gutekunst of Philadelphia, signed in the lower border in black ink, “R.
