World War II–dated vintage matte-finish 11 x 14 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To—Gen. Sherrill, With best regards, Geo. E. Stratemeyer, Maj. Gen. U. S. Army, Chief Air Staff, 11/June/43.” In very good condition, with light creases to corners, light overall foxing to borders, and slight silvering to dark areas of the image. The recipient, James C.
