Set of two identical DSs, each one page, 8.5 x 17, January 23, 1979. William Morris Agency contract between New York’s Palladium venue and The Clash for a performance on February 17, 1979. Set consists of the original document and a carbon copy, both signed at the conclusion in ink by a Clash representative. Documents are stapled together at the top, along with two 9-page riders, which include a diagram of the stage and a proposed advertising layout, reading, in part: “The American Debut of the Clash.” Horizontal folds to signed pages, scattered creases, and light toning, otherwise fine condition. An incredible document that set the stage for the influential punk rock band’s first-ever appearance on US soil. RR Auction COA.
