John Tyler

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, signed “J. Tyler,” one page, 11.25 x 8, October 12, 1842. President Tyler appoints Richard F. Dunn as “a Gunner in the Navy of The United States.” Signed at the conclusion by Tyler and Secretary of the Navy Abel P. Upshur. Seal is absent. In very good condition, with intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature), light scattered creases and toning, and mild overall foxing. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
