Partial autograph letter, one page, 8.5 x 11, Spring Hill Motor Lodge letterhead, no date. From a motel in Virginia, Ramone writes (with grammar and spelling retained): “But its about time its finally openin on the East coast it opens in N. Y. The 3rd of Aug thats great & Central Park is way over sold out it holds 8500 & theyve had request for 10,000 tickets now if we only had a hit.” Several light blocks of toning over portions of text and scattered light creases and wrinkles, otherwise fine condition. Rock ‘n’ Roll High School premiered in New York on August 4, 1979 and went on to become a cult classic. On August 6, 1979, the Ramones played Central Park as part of the Dr. Pepper Central Park Music Festival. Provenance: Joey Ramone Estate.
