Silent film actor (1881–1934) who appeared in many films with Sarah Bernhardt. Ill and debt-ridden, he committed suicide by stabbing himself with a pair of sewing scissors seven times. Vintage matte-finish 11 x 14 photo by Youngberg of St. Paul, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Miss ‘Mike’ Leahy, most sincerely, Lou Tellegen, 1924.” Light scattered creases, multiple tears to edges, and paper loss to lower right corner, otherwise very good condition.
