Union general who served as a member of the military commission that tried the conspirators involved with Lincoln’s assassination (1819–1891). Civil War–dated partly-printed pass, signed “James A. Ekin, Bvt. Brig. Gen.,” issued by the Quartermaster General’s Office, 4.25 x 3, Washington, DC, March 16, 1865. In full: “Pass W. G. Moon & friends to Giesboro’ & Return, until otherwise ordered.” Light overall toning and some light rippling due to adhesive remnants to reverse, otherwise fine condition. RR Auction COA.
