Claude Monet

Highly influential French painter (1840–1926) who was among the leading figures of the impressionist movement, which took its name from the title of one of Monet’s works. ALS in French, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 5.25 x 8.25, July 12, 1875. Untranslated letter to a gentleman. Nicely matted and framed, so both sides may be viewed, along with a color print of one of his works, to an overall size of 18.25 x 25. In fine condition, with vertical fold through a single letter of signature, a bit of scattered light toning, and pencil notations under signature. Oversized. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
