King of France (born 1551), the son of Henry II and Catherine de Medici, who reigned from 1574 until his assassination in 1589. Manuscript DS, in French, signed “Henry,” one page, 17 x 7, no date. Crisply-penned untranslated document, signed at the conclusion by the king and countersigned by two others. A vertical fold, a horizontal separation to blank lower right area, scattered light toning and soiling, and signature a few shades light, but still completely legible, otherwise very good condition.
