Celebrated soprano (1820–1887), known as the ‘Swedish Nightingale,’ who, under the management of P. T. Barnum, became the most renowned and highly paid singer of her day. Partial ALS signed “Jenny Goldschmidt,” one page both sides, 4.5 x 7, no date. Final two pages of a longer letter read, in part: “Wednesday next the 22nd if that day suits you. Mr Goldschmidt would perhaps come too. We would be with you somewhat at 4 o’clock—and stay to six.” In fine condition, with some mild toning and a vertical crease to one side.
