Zappa’s pass for the 1971 Montreaux Jazz Festival. Salmon-colored pass measures 3.5 x 2.25, is stamp-dated December 4, 1971, with “F. Zappa–Musicien,” printed along the bottom, and also bears a Montreax logo stamped in the center and the festival’s name printed on the reverse. Pass comes in its original pinned holder. In fine condition. This pass is from the concert made famous by Deep Purple in the song ‘Smoke on the Water,’ and is referenced in the lyric, ‘Frank Zappa and the Mothers were at the best place around, but some stupid with a flare gun burned the place to the ground.’ RR Auction COA.
