William Booth was a British minister and social reformer (1829–1912) best known as the founder and first ‘General’ of the Salvation Army. Evangeline (1865–1950), his daughter, served as the first female ‘General.’ Two signatures: one ink signature, “Yours in the service of the King of Kings on behalf of the most helpless of the sons and daughters of men. William Booth, Feby-12-07,” on a light blue 4.5 x 3.5 card; and one ink signature, “Evangeline Booth,” below a printed quotation on a 4.5 x 3 off-white card. William Booth card is affixed to a 7.25 x 5 toned off-white album page. In overall fine condition, with some mild scattered toning and soiling. Accompanied by a typed letter in German on Salvation Army letterhead, dated January 8, 1936. RR Auction COA.
