TLS, one page, 6.5 x 8, personal letterhead, December 22, 1980. Letter to a pair of admirers. In part: “Your question about the turning point in my life, when I photographed Winston Churchill, I have fully answered in my book of memoirs called ‘In Search of Greatness.’ I think you would find it of interest, since it deals with my early life & career. The book is out-of-print but I am sure your local library has a copy.” In fine condition. Karsh’s portrait of Churchill, taken in 1941, raised him to international prominence and is said to be the most reproduced photographic portrait in history. RR Auction COA.
