Vintage matte-finish 6.5 x 9 Cecil Beaton photo of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor posing outdoors at the Chateau de Cande after their wedding, and affixed to its original 11 x 16 mount, signed and inscribed in fountain pen on the mount, “Wallis, Cande, June 3rd 1937, To ‘Santa Claus’ with love,” and “Edward.” Also signed in red ink on the mount, “Beaton.” Some scattered spotting and damp staining to mount, otherwise fine condition. Beaton often photographed the Royal Family for official publication. The wedding of Wallis and Edward was held at the Château de Candé, lent to them by French millionaire Charles Bedaux.
