Eminent French sculptor (1834–1904) best known for designing the Statue of Liberty. Vintage 2.25 x 3.5 carte-de-visite photo, removed from its original mount and affixed to a 2.75 x 4.25 mount, signed along the bottom of the image in black ink, “Bartholdi.” In fine condition, with a few slight creases and some scattered light toning from adhesive on reverse.
