Signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Hampshire (1714–1803). Partial manuscript DS, signed “Matthew Thornton, Justice,” one page, 5 x 2, October 29, 1756. Affixed to a slightly larger card. In very good condition, with a central horizontal fold passing through a single letter of the signature, and scattered toning, foxing, and soiling.
