Officers of New York’s well-traveled 111th Volunteer Infantry

Original 1860s oval albumen photograph of Union Civil War soldiers, 8 x 6, displayed in an original mat to an overall size of 10 x 8. Pencil notation to reverse indicates that it depicts soldiers from Company F of the 111th New York Volunteer Infantry. Some wear to mat, including edge toning, foxing, edge wear and corner rounding. The 111th saw action from 1862 to 1865 including serving at Gettysburg, Battles of the Wilderness, and the Appomattox Campaign. RR Auction COA.
